Steps have made a triumphant return to the top of the UK album chart with their Ultimate Collection.

The '90s pop quintet - individually known as Claire Richards, Faye Tozer, Lisa Scott-Lee, Lee Latchford-Evans and Ian 'H' Watkins - grabbed pole position a little under ten years after they announced their split.

The Ultimate Collection is the recently-reunited group's third UK number one after their 1999 sophomore LP Steptacular and a previous Greatest Hits collection from 2001. Their Step One and Buzz records also cracked the top five in 1998 and 2000 respectively.

The runner-up spot this week goes to Ed Sheeran and +, which advances three places, mid-week number one artists Evanescence settle for fourth with their self-titled third studio album, and previous chart champion James Morrison completes the top five with The Awakening.

The back end of the Top 10, meanwhile, is given a complete refresh, with Cee Lo Green's The Lady Killer climbing to eight from last week's 18 to finish behind new entries Daydream by Katherine Jenkins and Future History by Jason Derulo.

Ryan Adams scores a personal chart best with latest release Ashes & Fire at nine, while music icon Cliff Richard caps off the bestsellers with his 39th Top 10 LP Soulicious.

Will Young sees his Echoes album climb five to 11, while Kasabian drop six to finish right behind at 12 with Velociraptor!.

Bruno Mars and Lady Antebellum also notch up heavy losses with their respective records Doo Wops & Hooligans and Own The Night, which are down six and 11 to 14 and 15.

Elsewhere, Lady GaGa boosts five up the chart with Born This Way at 16, just outdoing a new entry in the shape of Johnny Mathis's The Ultimate Collection at 17 and Christina Perri's Lovestrong, up six to 19.

David Guetta snatches the final spot in the top 20 after falling ten with Nothing But The Beat, denying veteran artists Bjork and Peter Gabriel a spot in the upper numbers with their new entries Biophilia and New Blood, this Sunday's 21 and 22.
