Stylusboy is Coventry born and bred singer/songwriter Steve Jones. Listening to his sound for the first time I noticed the undertones of Paul Weller, this very much present in the pounding guitar riffs and melodic vocals on the fifth track 'Gunfight at the OK Corral', also my favourite track off the album.

And, I believe, it's fair to describe him as the British version of Jack Johnson because of the soft folk rock and acoustic nature of his sound.

Listening from beginning to end one feels a warm fuzzy feeling inside. It's like a warm and emotional alt-folk wave washing over your body, seeping into your skin and making the hairs in your ears stand to attention.

It made me want to sit in my garden and watch the clouds go by. All woes and foes washed away by the pure bell-like sound of the glockenspiel. It is obvious that a lot of love and care has gone into the making of this album. From conception through to final mastering.

Supporting Stylusboy are the gentle vocal tones of Rachel Grisedale, a close friend of his and perfect accompaniment.

Money from the sale of the EP is going to coffeetotscoventry.co.uk - a local community project for parents and kids, and weheartarts.com - an organisation set up to allow young people to express themselves through creative arts programs.

You can buy the Whole Picture EP via his website http://www.stylusboy.co.uk or you can follow @Stylusboy on twitter.
