Coventry's Belgrade Theatre has announced families will still be able to enjoy a pantomime this year.

The theatre is hosting a number of socially distanced performances of Jack and the Beanstalk.

And for those who can't make a show, the show will also be live streamed to audiences online for the first time ever.

The show has been created in response to coronavirus restrictions so families don't miss out on the tradition this year.

Tickets for the performances at the Belgrade will cost £11 for adults and £6 for children.

An online show will cost £16.

In the show, life has been turned upside-down in the village of Prickly Bottom.

As if the Covid 17 ½ lockdown wasn’t bad enough, the villagers are also being plagued by an outbreak of theft, thanks to an evil Giant and his horrible henchman Fleshcreep.

When they steal the enchanted harp that helps keep Prickly Bottom safe and prosperous, it’s up to lockdown layabout Jack Trott to save the day.

But can he turn over a new leaf in time to be the hero everyone needs?

The show is written and directed by Iain Lauchlan, who plays several different roles including the Dame.

Visit the Belgrade Theatre's website to see how to book tickets or an online show.
