Following the huge success of their previous productions at the Belgrade Theatre, the internationally acclaimed Russian State Ballet and Opera House return to Coventry this November with another trio of traditional ballets, all accompanied by a live 30-piece orchestra.

Opening the programme on Thursday, November 1, will be a sumptuous new production of fairytale classic Swan Lake.

First witnessed 135 years ago, this enchanting piece radically transformed the world of ballet in its day, with a captivating Tchaikovsky score and story of a princess magically transformed into a swan.

When Prince Siegfried chances upon a flock of swans while hunting beside a beautiful moonlit lake, he is instantly entranced when one of the birds momentarily turns into the beautiful princess Odette.

But will his love prove strong enough to break the curse that she is under?

Then on Friday 2 November, award-winning former Bolshoi Ballet soloist Konstantin Uralsky offers an original twist on Adolphe Adam’s unforgettable Giselle.

Expect a stunning new set and elegant handmade costumes in this fresh reimagining of the world’s most romantic ballet, telling of love, betrayal, heartbreak and forgiveness between a peasant girl and a handsome prince.

Finally, audiences are invited to experience one of the most popular and accessible ballets of all time with festive favourite The Nutcracker, running for two performances on Saturday 3 November.

Get ready to start Christmas early with this charming show choreographed and directed by Konstantin Uralsky.

Expect snow flurries, sweet treats, princes, magic and romance, all set to instantly recognisable music such as The Waltz of the Flowers and Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy.

Russian State Ballet present Swan Lake, Giselle and The Nutcracker at the Belgrade Theatre from Thursday 1 until Saturday 3 November.

Tickets are available to book now by calling the box office on 024 7655 3055, or visiting http://www.belgrade.co.uk where prices are even cheaper.
