The line-up of funnymen and women includes established and up-and-coming comics, with veteran Terry Alderton - a star of the recent Sport Relief Let's Dance competition - kicking off proceedings on April 22 before telly favourite Jon Richardson visits on April 29.

Another spotted-on-the-box arrival will be Seann Walsh, who made an appearance on Channel 4's topical show Stand Up for the Week, will deliver his brand of observational comedy on May 3.

Former medic Adam Kay, who became an internet sensation after discovering his talent for musical comedy, takes to the stage on May 7. He made a name for himself on the comedy circuit as part of the Amateur Transplants, composing and performing comic ditties, most notably, the YouTube sensation London Underground.

Radio 4 regular Tim Clare's will showcase his new show How to be a Leader on May 26. The rambling history of leadership includes a rap about Margaret Thatcher.

Two performers will preview their Edinburgh Fringe shows at the venue - magician Pete Firman (June 3) while Marcel Lucont's Gallic Symbol (also June 3) presents bawdy, tongue-in-cheek songs.

For subtle comedy try The Boy With Tape on His Face, which features the silent Sam Wills, an array of props and several willing volunteers from the audience on July 21.

Isy Suttie, better known as Dobby on hit TV programme Peep Show, tells tales of internet romance and adventure mixed with bursts of music on May 13.

Other acts set to grace the stage include Alex Horne (June 10), Paul Merton (May 18), and Stewart Lee (May 24).
