Here's a show that’s better than Botox for turning back the years.Swallows And Amazons allows you to be a kid again with a wonderful adventure on the high seas.
The well-loved family tale takes audiences of all ages on a voyage of creativity that fires the imagination with its underwater scenes and shipboard battles.
The adult cast turns back the clock to play the young adventurers, pirates and intrepid explorers. There’s Stewart Wright as the “baby” Swallow of the group Roger, who is determined to learn to swim, while Sophie Waller and Celia Adams are girls with attitude as the Amazons.
Director Tom Morris, of War Horse fame, lifts this a level above the normal family show and makes it treat for kids of any age... and adults as well.
The toe-tapping song by the Divine Comedy’s Neil Hannon will also stay with you long after the curtain comes down.
* Until Saturday.
