Some of the country’s top comedians are being sent to Coventry ... and they can’t wait.

Rob Brydon, Sarah Millican, Omid Djalili, Jimmy Carr, Russell Kane, Milton Jones, David Gorman, Jack Whitehall and rising comedy star Daniel Sloss are among those all heading to the city as part of Warwick Arts Centre new season.

Stephen Merchant, of Extras and The Office fame, studied at Warwick University and is heading back to his old stomping ground with his stand-up show Hello Ladies.

He says: “Most people don’t realise that I was a stand-up comedian before I met Ricky Gervais and his coat-tails.”

Gavin And Stacey’s Rob Brydon will be talking about his memoir Small Man In A Book which explores his childhood in South Wales and the lengths to which he went to turn his love of acting into a career.

Russell Kane looks at the ridiculous state of masculinity in the modern world in his stand-up show Manscaping and Sarah Millican comes to Coventry for two dates with her Thoroughly Modern Millican tour.

Daniel Sloss has been described as Scotland’s half-man-half-Xbox, hormone-ridden comic prodigy. He started doing stand-up when he was 16 and has already appeared on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, 8/10 Cats, Jason Manford Comedy Rocks, Rob Brydon Show, Comic Relief’s Mock The Week and the Paul O’Grady Show – all before he started to shave.
