It's time for the end of term report at Leamington’s Loft Theatre as they round off the season with comedy hit Daisy Pulls It Off.

Denise Deegan’s wickedly funny 1983 stage favourite is set in the world of girls’ boarding schools with jolly japes, sports fixtures and mysterious lost treasure.

Daisy is a girl from a poor background who wins a scholarship to Grangewood School for Girls.

She is the first scholarship student the school has ever admitted and as well as having to come to terms with hockey and tennis, she also has to face snobbery and pranks from the wealthier girls, led by arch-snob Sybil.

But things aren’t so frightful. Daisy seems to come top of the class in just about everything, she has the help of her newfound chum, Trixie, and headmistress Miss Gibson is absolutely spiffing.

Along the way Daisy and Trixie search for the missing treasure that could save the fortunes of Grangewood, and finally discover the real identity of the mysterious stranger seen around the school grounds. Cue lashings of lemonade all round.

Director David Hankins says: “The show is full of hilarious characters and splendid scrapes.”

Daisy Pulls It Off opens tonight and runs until July 16 with Rachel Cooper as Daisy with Katharine Bayley as her zany friend Trixie, Katherine Crawshaw as toffee-nosed Sybil, and Helen Ashbourne as Miss Gibson.
