Mark Haddon's story is about teenage boy Christopher who finds a neighbour's dog dead.

But Christopher is no ordinary 15-year-old; he has an extraordinary brain which is exceptional at maths while ill-equipped to interpret everyday life, and he has never ventured alone beyond the end of his road, detests being touched and he distrusts strangers.

The play - filmed at the National Theatre in London - follows him as he records each fact in a book he is writing to solve the mystery of who murdered Wellington; detective work, forbidden by his father, that takes him on a frightening journey that upturns his world.

It stars Niamh Cusack, Una Stubbs (In Sickness and In Health, BBC), Luke Treadaway (Clapham Junction, C4) and Nicola Walker (Spooks, BBC).

The first screening on September 6 is a sell out so another date has been added on September 20. Tickets are on sale at £10 and £15 from the box office on 7652 4524 or http://www.warwickartscentre.co.uk.

Other live shows to be screened at the arts centre are The Last of the Haussmans, starring Julie Walters, on October 11 and Timon of Athens, Shakespeare's strange fable of conspicuous consumption, debt and ruinm on November 1.
