Coventry City have announced defender Ben Turner has agreed a new three-and-a-half year deal with the club.

Turner has made 84 appearances for the Sky Blues after graduating from the club's academy.

The 22-year-old, currently out with a knee injury, has impressed manager Aidy Boothroyd this campaign.

Boothroyd said: "He is exactly the sort of player we want at this club. He is young, ambitious, talented and has got the right attitude."

The centre half has been in good form this season, with winning goals in the victories over Derby and Bristol City.

Boothroyd added: "He's got everything.

"He's been a real mainstay of the team and I believe with his talent, attitude and temperament that he can all the way to the very top.

"So we are very pleased to have agreed a new contract with Ben and it is great news for the club."
