The EFL have confirmed that Coventry City's Championship fixture at Rotherham United this weekend has been postponed.

The Sky Blues were due to travel to the New York Stadium to take on their fellow relegation battlers who are currently third from bottom of the division.

The Millers had already postponed two games, their scheduled trip to Brentford last weekend and tomorrow's trip to Luton Town after a second outbreak of Covid-19 at the club.

Paul Warne's men were due to be without four or five players for this coming weekend's clash with the Sky Blues, which has now also been postponed with a view to being played at a later date.

Rotherham have closed their training ground. All Football League clubs undergo twice-weekly Covid testing.

City’s relegation rivals Birmingham City have called on the EFL to investigate what their manager claims is Rotherham’s ‘unfair’ advantage after another coronavirus outbreak at the Championship outfit.

Blues’ boss Aitor Karanka has spoken out after his side were beaten 1-0 at Barnsley on Saturday, leaving them still three points above the Millers in the final relegation place.

The only real upside for the Sky Blues is the fact that it will give star striker Matty Godden more time to get fit for his return to action.

City's next scheduled fixture is away at Luton Town a week on Tuesday (March 16).
