Former Sky Blues stars, who played under the stewardship of Hill, will be presented to the crowd including John Sillett, George Curtis, Willy Humphries, Albert McCann and Bill Glazier.

Hill will attend the match with his family on the day and CCFC director Joe Elliott is hoping for a big crowd to give the iconic former manager and chairman a fitting reception.

Elliott said: "We are hoping for a big crowd at the match so I am urging everyone in the city to come along and to bring as many friends, family and children as they can.

"It will be a great celebration focused on the achievements of a truly inspirational character and we want as many people there as possible to generate the sort of fantastic atmosphere a man like Jimmy Hill deserves."

Organisers behind The Jimmy Hill Tribute Appeal aim to raise £150,000 to commission and install a statue of Hill outside the main entrance to the Ricoh Arena.

As part of the fund-raising efforts, Coventry City's final pre-season game at the Ricoh Arena against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, July 31 (kick-off 3pm) has been dedicated to Hill.

There will also be face painters on the day, a musical procession from a brass band, and a parade around the pitch by young footballers from a number of the city's junior football teams from the John Bryan Coventry Minor Football League during the half-time interval.

Tickets for the match are priced at £11 for adults, £8 for concessions and £3 for under-7s and can be purchased now by visiting the club's ticket offices at the Ricoh Arena or the City Central store in the Lower Precinct in the city centre.
