Jak Hickman, 20, sparked fury from Sky Blues fans after being filmed bragging about his wealth and appearing to say ‘F*** Cov’.

He has since issued an apology on Twitter.

A Coventry City spokesperson today (July 4) said: “Coventry City can confirm it has concluded its investigation, following the video on social media of Under 23s player Jak Hickman.

“Hickman has been subject to a formal Club disciplinary procedure.

“Hickman has been given a fine of 2 weeks wages by Coventry City for bringing the Club into disrepute – this is the maximum permissible fine the Club is able to give according to Football Association rules for a player on a standard FA contract for a first offence.

“The club also reported the matter to the FA, and they advised us that they would not be taking any action against Hickman.

“Hickman has been immediately placed on the transfer list.

“Coventry City Football Club will not be making any further comment.”

After the incident, Hickman tweeted: “Just want to say, as fans of the club you lot shouldn’t have to see someone giving it the big one like that, thinking im something special when im far from it.

“And very different to that if you know me personally. I’m just upset with myself right now.”

He said his behaviour was ‘disgraceful’ and that he had been on holiday and had a drink but that did not excuse his behaviour.

He added that he had ‘nothing but love for Coventry City Football Club.’

You pay a young person more money than they've ever seen in their life and it's bound to go to their head.
