EFL silence over Coventry City deadline
The English Football League will not reveal the deadline they have set Coventry City to tell them where they will be playing next season.
Despite fixtures being due to be released on June 20, Sky Blues' chief executive David Boddy yesterday admitted that a fixture questionnaire filled out by other teams in March had not yet been completed by Coventry City.
He added: "There is a deadline, although I am not at liberty to say what that deadline is but it will be sorted one way or another.”
CoventryLive put the following questions to the EFL:
A spokesman for the EFL did not answer those questions.
- With the announcement that the Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) on May 29th was cancelled, has the EFL got a new deadline for CCFC to submit their plans to you?
- Will you comment on what CCFC have told you that meant the EGM could be cancelled? Did they confirm details to you of where they will play next season privately, or have they still got to do this?
Instead they said there would be no update until after a EFL board meeting tomorrow (Wednesday, May 5) afternoon in which the Sky Blues' situation will be discussed.
