Coventry City fans can jump on a Wembley special from Warwick Parkway station

A Wembley special train service direct to the national stadium is being offered to Coventry City Fans for the Checkatrade Trophy final on April 2 (kick-off 2.45pm)

But Sky Blues fans will have to go to Warwick Parkway for the extra services from Chiltern Raiways, or use its usual Sunday service from other stations.

Chiltern Raiways has today issued the following statement…

“Ahead of the Checkatrade Trophy final between Coventry City and Oxford United on 2 April, Chiltern Railways has released advice for fans travelling to the event by rail.

“Fans are asked to use Warwick Parkway station from where the company will provide additional special trains and lengthened services that will run direct to Wembley before and after the game.”

Justin Baines, Commercial Director at Chiltern Railways said: “With Coventry City challenging last year’s finalists for the trophy at Wembley, it will no doubt be an exciting event.

“To help get everyone to the event quickly and easily we’ve added extra capacity to the services that will transport fans to and from Wembley Stadium station.”

KEY TRAVEL ADVICE

  • Where possible please use Warwick Parkway station. Warwick Parkway is easily accessed from both the M40 and A46 and has around 900 parking spaces. It is also well served by bus routes and has cycle parking facilities.
  • High-capacity trains from Warwick Parkway to Wembley Stadium Station will depart at 08.49, 09.02, 09.17, 09.39, 10.05, 10.17, 10.43, 10.54, 11.18, 11.41, 12.16 and 12.39.
  • Queuing systems will be in operation at key stations, please arrive early for your train.
  • Ideally please purchase your train ticket ahead of time. Tickets can be bought from any railway station, or via our website or app.
