Coventry City have confirmed that Billy Daniels will have a hernia operation in Germany on 30 October.
The 19-year-old midfielder has scored three times in eight games this season and was a last-minute substitute in the weekend victory at Walsall.
But he has not started a game since the Sky Blues drew with Preston in August.
"He's given us a valuable option this season already and we're hoping he will be back in contention in a couple of weeks," said manager Steven Pressley.
Daniels is likely to miss Coventry's League One matches against Notts County and Bradford City, as well as the FA Cup first round clash at Wimbledon that is in between those games.
