Coventry City midfielder Franck Moussa has signed a new 18-month deal with the much-improved Sky Blues.

After his summer release by Leicester City, Moussa was a free agent when he became one of new manager Mark Robins' first signings back in September - on a short-term deal until January.

The 23-year-old Belgian has since played a big part in helping Coventry's revival over the last four months.

He scored in their three big wins at Hartlepool, Colchester and Doncaster.

Moussa has been impressed with the job that Robins has done in lifting Coventry from the League One relegation zone to 11th in the table - just five points off the top six.

"He tries to get the best out of the players and out of the team and he makes it a decent environment to work in," said Moussa.

"And, when the team does win as well, it makes it even better."

Moussa began his career with Belgian giants Anderlecht before joining Southend United, from whom he joined Leicester in August 2010.

After re-signing James Bailey on loan from Derby until the end of the season and bringing in striker Leon Clarke from Charlton Athletic on New Year's Day, Robins is now hoping to extend the loans of Sunderland defender Blair Adams and top scorer David McGoldrick from Nottingham Forest.

Meanwhile, the club have confirmed that there is still no resolution in their ongoing rent row with their landlords at the Ricoh Arena.

Arena Coventry Limited, who claim that the Sky Blues owe £1.1m in rent arrears, had given the club until Boxing Day to pay up - or face a winding-up petition.

That deadline was then extended until 2 January.

But a Coventry City spokesman said: "Negotiations are continuing. We will not be discussing this through the media as they are by their very nature confidential."
