TEAM NEWS

Forward Freddie Sears could make his Coventry debut after joining the club on loan from West Ham.

Midfielder Aron Gunnarsson (leg) and centre-back James McPake (back) will need late fitness tests.

QPR are without on-loan striker Marcus Bent (hamstring) and Mikele Leigertwood is suspended, but Peter Ramage is back after serving a one-match ban.

Left-back Gary Borrowdale has recovered from a calf problem and could return to face his former club.

MATCH PREVIEW

QPR are in freefall, and Tuesday's home defeat against fellow strugglers Ipswich underlined the fact that the troubled London club are in a relegation battle.

That loss was their fourth in a row, leaving them 17th - only two points away from the relegation zone - and prompting an angry response from disgruntled Rangers fans.

It was followed by club chairman Gianni Paladini seeking to be relieved of his additional title of sporting director, which was given to him soon after the Flavio Briatore-led takeover of 2007.

Coventry were themselves struggling before putting together a recent run of four matches without defeat. A victory would take them further clear of danger - and six points clear of QPR.
