Finance boss Gary Ambrose quit Coventry City due to "long commute"

COVENTRY CITY have confirmed finance director Gary Ambrose has quit the struggling club - due to personal reasons.

Mr Ambrose - the man in charge of the Sky Blues' finances - has opted to resign from his position with the club due to his "long commute to work".

Tim Fisher, the club's chief executive, thanked Mr Ambrose for his work with City - and pledged that they would be looking to replace him.

He said: “Gary has left us for personal reasons.

"He was commuting to the club from his home in the North West of England and decided this was not sustainable in the longer term.

"We fully respect Gary's decision and would like to place on record our thanks for his work for CCFC.

"We will be looking to recruit a replacement.”

Ambrose's departure means that the Sky Blues are looking for their third finance director in nine months.

Long-serving finance and operations director John Street left the club in June last year.
