Coventry City hope wearing the same kit they won the 1987 FA Cup in will bring them luck against Southhampton this weekend. It’s part of the clubs celebration of 25 years since they won the cup by beating Tottenham 3-2 at Wembley.
Justin Tose, commercial director at Coventry City, said: “The cup final win in 1987 is the greatest moment in the club’s history and it’s right that those achievements should be honoured.
“It was a fantastic era for the club and that blue and white striped shirt is synonymous with the famous victory.”
The clubs also making 1,987 shirts for fans. And if they make it past Southhampton the players will keep wearing the kit for the rest of their FA Cup games.
