The former player and manager met fans at Waterstones to promote ‘24 Carat Gould’.

Asked what fans can expect from his life story, Gould replied: “Fun. I always wanted to make sure when I committed to writing an autobiography that people would enjoy.

"I’ve had a wonderful life in football and I’ve always had a smile on my face and I wanted that to continue.”

City born Gould was top-scorer in the 1966/67 promotion season before playing at Arsenal, Wolverhampton, West Bromwich Albion and West Ham.

His coaching posts included two spells at Highfield Road, an FA Cup winning stint at Wimbledon and leading the Welsh national team.
