On-loan pair Leon Barnett and Gary Madine cannot feature, Carl Baker is Cup-tied and Gary Deegan not registered in time to play in the competition.

Portsmouth must do without Jamie O'Hara but David James (calf) could return.

Aaron Mokoena is available after a one-match ban, but Nadir Belhadj, Hassan Yebda, Aruna Dindane and Kanu are all at the Africa Cup of Nations.
