Coventry City chairman Ken Dulieu wants more information following a second written bid for the football club.

A consortium put together by former vice-chairman Gary Hoffman submitted the formal offer on Monday.

In a statement, Dulieu said the letter "raises many questions" and that he wanted to see proof of funds.

Dulieu added: "The board's duty will be to seek further clarification, in particular regarding the transparency of investors' identities."

Hoffman spoke to Dulieu in Burton-on-Trent last week.

BBC Coventry & Warwickshire understands that although Hoffman has been instrumental in the bid, the offer was submitted by the chairman of the company seeking to buy the Championship outfit.

Current owners Sisu have been in control of the club since 2007 and, according to Dulieu, are prepared to finance the club until at least the end of the current season.

The consortium previously bid £1 for the club with the promise to pump in funds of around £30m.

The Sky Blues board rejected it because it was not submitted on headed paper and did not disclose information about the investors.
