Coventry have signed Northampton keeper Chris Dunn on a three-year deal.
The 23-year-old became a free agent after turning down the offer of a new contract at Sixfields.
The Sky Blues have agreed an undisclosed compensation fee with Northampton which was payable because Dunn is under the age of 24.
Boss Andy Thorn said: "I know for a fact a Premier League club was interested in him but we have managed to get it done quickly."
He added: "Like everyone else, he is coming here to compete for a place in the first team.
"We don't have reserves, everyone has a chance of getting their hands on the jersey, and Chris will be no different."
Dunn made 98 league appearances for the Cobblers.
