Coventry City midfielder Sammy Clingan has been named Sky Blues captain for the 2011/12 season.
Clingan, 27, wore the armband for eight games at the back end of the last campaign as City picked up 13 points.
The Northern Ireland international has scored five goals in 64 appearances since joining in the summer of 2009.
"He is a fantastic leader on and off the field but most of all he is a terrific footballer who loves this club," said manager Andy Thorn.
"He leads by example and sets high standards for himself and those around him, which is important as that helps everyone to improve.
"You always want a captain who others will look up to and follow and I believe Sammy is that man.
"I told him the news over the phone the other day and he was delighted."
