Birmingham City have completed the signing of striker Marlon King from Championship rivals Coventry City. The 31-year-old has joined Blues on a three-year deal.
King had looked set to sign a new deal with Coventry only last week, when they reported he had verbally agreed a new two-year contract.
The former Gillingham, Nottingham Forest and Watford forward was Coventry's top scorer in 2010/11 with 12 league goals.
The Sky Blues have reacted angrily to King's departure, with vice-chairman John Clarke telling BBC Coventry & Warwickshire: "It's a huge disappointment for all of us.
"We were all excited with the coming season with Marlon King involved with the club. We feel badly let down.
"It's unforgivable but we move on. Marlon was taken on when other clubs for whatever the reason didn't take him on.
"We gave him a good chance and he delivered the goods in terms of goals on the pitch and some exciting performances."
