Ray Ranson quits Coventry City

Ray Ranson today severed all his connections with Coventry City.



When the 50-year-old resigned as chairman last week the club announced that he would be staying on in a football advisory capacity until the end of the season, but shortly before today’s press conference at the Ricoh Arena he confirmed that he was leaving with immediate effect.

Ranson was due to be at the conference in what the new chairman Ken Dulieu and board had hoped would be a show of solidarity.

It is a major blow for the club as they attempt to stave off the threat of relegation on the field and struggle with the growing financial crisis off it.
