Coventry City have announced they’ve sacked manager Aidy Boothroyd with immediate effect.
Assistant coach Martin Pert has also been let go, with first team coach Steve Harrison and chief scout Andy Thorn now now in temporary charge, possibly til the end of the season if results go well.
It comes ahead of tomorrow’s Championship clash with Burnley – with the Sky Blues sitting 19th in the Championship, only having won one league game in 2011.
In a statement, the club’s board said: “We would like to place on record our thanks to Aidy and Martin for their efforts.”
Lifelong supporter Natalie Cox said: “There seems to be lots of changes happening this year, and if you look at the league table, the atmosphere, the league table – they had to do something.”
“People are tired – they don’t want to renew their season tickets, because there’s no motivation to do so.”
