Ex-Charlton and Cardiff boss in at the Ricoh
Coventry City this afternoon confirmed Russell Slade as the club's new manager.
The League One side were understood to be in talks with the former Cardiff and Leyton Orient boss in recent days.
It has been reported that Slade will take over until the end of the season, initially, but the length of contract has not been revealed by the club.
Coventry have been looking for a new boss since Tony Mowbray stepped down just weeks into the season.
Mark Venus took caretaker change, but after decent early run of results, the Sky Blues have lost their five league games and crashed out of the FA Cup.
Former Coventry striker John Hartson and former Wigan boss Gary Caldwell had also been linked with the vacant job.
Slade was sacked by League One Charlton earlier this season and had a disappointing time with Cardiff City in the Championship.
He built his career at Yeovil Town and had success with Leyton Orient.
