LOSS-MAKING Coventry City have had to scrap a major season ticket promotion after the legal demand for unpaid rent and a potential Ricoh Arena lock-out.
Trading restrictions associated with a statutory demand for £1.1million of rent arrears have led to the half-season ticket offer for the second part of the season being withdrawn, just as the threatened club desperately needs income.
It emerged as both sides in the bitter dispute between the part-council owned stadium and the Sky Blues appealed for talks to resume.
Sky Blues chief executive Tim Fisher said he contacted the stadium yesterday to request a meeting in the coming days.
A Sky Blues spokesman said pulling the half-season ticket offer was a "credit consequence of the statutory demand."
