Coventry City have been placed under a temporary transfer embargo because they have not filed their accounts on time.
Financial details were supposed to have submitted to the Football League on Wednesday, 29 February.
The club were not able to prove they have got enough money to continue for the next 12 months.
Sky Blues bosses have asked owners SISU for more money and are still waiting to hear back.
Chief Exec Tim Fisher has issued a statement admitting the situation is “far from ideal”:
“There is nothing untoward about this and it is perfectly normal to be negotiating funding with the owner.
“We would hope to secure funding commitments in the very next few weeks.
“We totally understand and appreciate supporters might be concerned.”
