Coventry City FC has addressed concerns over the 'We Are Back Live' parade route and festival timings. The club has issued a statement about the plans for the huge promotion event on Bank Holiday Monday.

There have been concerns raised about the route that the bus parade is taking, how it is not going through the city centre and claims it is missing parts of the city.

Some have also questioned why the entrance to the festival in War Memorial Park is only allowed before 3pm- with no one allowed in after that time.

In a full statement, the club explained why the route was chosen and also why there is a curfew for entrance to the event at the park, which will see not only the Sky Blues team take to the stage but also The Enemy and Tom Grennan.

The statement reads: "The parade route has been carefully designed to reach deep into the community - including areas full of passionate supporters who haven’t previously experienced an event like this on their doorstep, bringing the club closer than ever to the people who make it what it is.

"While we appreciate some fans may have wished for a city centre parade, safety considerations mean that this is not possible.

"Along the way, the route passes pubs, community hubs, and residential streets, creating countless opportunities for fans to gather, celebrate, and share in the moment together. Whether you’re watching from your doorstep, your local, or lining the streets with friends and family - this is your celebration."

Addressing concerns about the park and entrance times, the club said: "We want supporters to be able to attend the parade and then the amazing WE ARE BACK: LIVE event in the War Memorial Park, and fans who have tickets to do both are encouraged to attend the earlier parts of the parade route - allowing them time to be in the park prior to the published 3pm entry curfew for the event.

"The parade buses will leave Coventry Building Society Arena at 1pm – while supporters can gather outside the Arena on Car Park B, fans are encouraged to line the parade route in the community rather than visit the Arena. There will be no car parking available at the Arena for any supporters, and no food or drink available to purchase."

In the statement, the club also unveiled the estimated timings for the parade, these are:

  • Depart Coventry Building Society Arena at 1pm, travelling south on Jimmy Hill Way
  • Holbrook Way then right onto Holbrook Lane (approx. 1:20pm)
  • Left onto Parkgate Road then join Beake Avenue (approx. 1:45pm)
  • Down Beake Avenue then Bruce Road → Wallace Road (approx. 2:05pm)
  • Norman Place Road then left onto Hollyfast Road (approx. 2:20pm) → Westhill Road
  • Down Barkers Butts Lane (approx. 2:30pm) then right onto Moseley Avenue
  • Cross Holyhead Road (approx. 2:45pm) then Four Pounds Avenue then Queensland Avenue (just before 3pm)
  • Public parade concludes at Hearsall Common (approx. 3:05pm)

It has been stressed that the buses will not stop at Hearsall Common or enter the field grounds..

The club has confirmed the players and staff will have a short, private break and then travel to the War Memorial Park to reach the park and continue the celebrations from 4pm.

The section between Hearsall Common and War Memorial Park is not part of the public parade route and supporters will not be able to follow this section.

That is the dumbest route I could imagine! :clown:

It totally ignores the areas where most Sky Blue fans live and also the Sky Blue Tavern in Spon End! :fuming:
