Prices are going up for walk-ups, despite relegation



Coventry City have released their matchday ticket prices ahead of next season's League Two campaign - and fans paying on the day will pay more.

Adult tickets in the Standard Zone are priced at £22 if bought in advance, and £24 if bought on the gate.

That means matchday tickets bought in advance are priced at the same rate as last season, but there is an increase of £2 if they are bought on the day, despite the club dropping down to the fourth tier.

The Sky Blues are also set to charge a £1 processing fee on all tickets bought either in advance or on the gate.

This effectively means that adults will pay £23 for advance tickets and £25 for those bought at the cash turnstiles on a matchday.

However, tickets in the Premium Zone have been reduced by £2, if bought in advance, going from £26 last season to £24 for this term.

Discounted tickets under Concessions have expanded to include all students (with valid NUS card), alongside Seniors (60+), Young Adults (21 and Under) and members of the Armed Forces.

Following the release of matchday ticket prices, Chief Executive Dave Boddy said: "Now we have announced our matchday prices, the 2017/18 season is really just around the corner and it is a very exciting period for everyone, particularly our supporters.

"When we set matchday prices, we are conscious of several aspects.

"We have to ensure that buying a Season Ticket is the best value way of watching the team through the season, while having a ticket price that is enticing to supporters who have not got a Season Ticket to come along and support Mark Robins and the team.

"We hope we have achieved this balance, with a set of prices which compare favourably to other all-seater stadiums in the division and encourage fans to buy tickets in advance.

"We will be announcing shortly details of our popular 6 and 12 Match Packages, where fans can purchase tickets in bundles and save on the match by match prices."
