Coventry City boss Mark Robins lists Kevin Malaga

New Coventry City manager Mark Robins has begun the reconstruction of his Sky Blues playing staff by making defender Kevin Malaga available for transfer.



The 6ft 2in French centre-half, 25, was one of former boss Andy Thorn's summer signings, joining on a three-year deal following his departure from Nice.

But he has not featured since August draws with Sheffield United and Bury.

"There are other people there that are in front of him," Robins told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire.

"I'll make Kevin available for a permanent transfer and see if I can help him on his way.

"It may free some funds up for me to do something else with.

"There'll be others as well that we'll look at and see if we can get them games and just freshen things up slightly."

After starting his reign with a home defeat by Carlisle and a 6-1 Capital One Cup thrashing at Arsenal, Robins's men have picked up an encouraging four points from their last two games.

The Sky Blues go into the weekend meeting with managerless Bournemouth on the back of a 1-0 win at Robins's home-town club Oldham and a 1-1 midweek home draw with MK Dons.

Malaga has not lost in his two-game Coventry career and thought he had scored against Sheffield United, but his header was adjudged not to have crossed the line.
