Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has made his second successful swoop for a loan player from his old club Middlesbrough, signing defender Adam Jackson on loan.

Jackson, 21, who is yet to make his Football League debut, joins the Sky Blues a one-month emergency loan deal.

He follows the lead of Bryn Morris, who joined City from the Sky Blues on a season's loan in August.

"Adam is a player who I know from my time at Middlesbrough," said Mowbray.

"He's a young centre-half who has some great attributes. I was really impressed by him during my time at the club.

"We're bringing him in to have a closer look at him in training and Under-21s games to see how he has progressed over the last few years."

Former England Under-18 international Jackson, whose experience at Boro has been limited to their Under-21s side, was involved at first-team level in the club's pre-season campaign.

Fourth-placed Coventry, who hope to play Jackson in their Under-21 side against QPR on Monday, are in League One action at home to Chesterfield this Saturday.
