Queen visits Northern Ireland

The Queen was visiting Northern Ireland.

Her Majesty was walking down the road - all the Catholics lined one side and the Protestants the other.

All of a sudden, the heel on one of her shoes broke off. A man from the Catholic side stepped forward and said, “pardon me your majesty, I am a cobbler and I would be honoured to repair your shoe.”

He took the shoe and a short while later returned with the shoe repaired.

The Queen took the shoe and said “Than you – that is a wonderful job you have done.”

The man replied “May I now put the ‘by Royal Appointment sign on my shop”

Her majesty nodded in approval.

So next day the man had a sign in his window saying ‘O’Flattery – cobblers to, the Queen’

A protestant cobbler on the other side of the street saw it and was furious. So he put a sigh in his window saying
