Sensory deprivation

I've been reading about sensory deprivation chambers where you float in water at body temperature, in a completely dark and sound-proofed room. The idea is that you are unable to receive any sensory stimulus until someone comes to get you.

Which sounds an awful lot like moving to Milton Keynes to me.
