He told her that he had worked for a number of years in the City and then invested some savings in a boutique bookshop in Kensington. As that had been profitable he reinvested back into the business and now owned a chain of 6 bookshops stocking thousands of bestsellers.
"Wow," she said adoringly. "That's amazing." Then turning to me she said, "What do you own that's that impressive?"
