COVENTRY MESSAGE BOARD

Old Brendon Boyle was a short-wave radio freak.

Every evening without fail he would sit and twiddle the dials, and receive the most scratchy and ear-splitting noises for his pains.

One evening as Brendon leaned towards the radio set, he felt a fierce pain in his lower back.

"My goodness", he cried, "I think I have got lumbago."

"I don't know why you bother," said his wife Bridget.
