A delivery driver allegedly crashed into parked cars in Coventry and drove off. One person said they woke up to a loud crash from outside his home along Shakespeare Street in Stoke at around 6.20am on Sunday, October 23.

He peered out of his window and claims a white van had smashed into his and his neighbours' cars before driving away. The vehicle was so badly damaged its owner has since been told it is a write off.

Other residents' parked cars were also smashed up, he said. The force of the crash was so hard the cars were even pushed out of the parking space, he said.

It is alleged a delivery driver had crashed into the parked vehicles, according to resident reports. The resident, who doesn't wish to be named, told CoventryLive: "The incident that happened early in the morning, around 6:20am outside my house on Shakespeare Street.

"I was fast asleep, and got woken up by a loud bang and my car alarm going off. I stumbled out of bed and looked outside to see that a white van had crashed into both mine and my neighbour’s cars, and simply drove off.

"I then went outside to inspect the damage and it looked to be quite severe, as one of the wheels on my car had gone right into the arch (as you can see in the picture).

"The force of the crash was so hard, that both cars were pushed far back from their original parking spot. One of my neighbour’s had also heard the bang.

"If it wasn't for her, I would've never known. Another neighbour also managed to get the number plate luckily."
