A policeman calls

A policeman knocked on my door today and said "Do you know where your neighbour Sidney is? We need to speak to him regarding a burglary."
"Is he not at home?" I asked.
"Not when we checked a few moments ago."
"Have you tried Mr. Grayson's house?" I suggested.
"Why would he be there?"
I said,
"Is he not at home?" I asked.
"Not when we checked a few moments ago."
