Going a courtin'

15yr old comes downstairs wearing his best suit and carrying a torch.
Dad asks "Where are you going dressed like that with a torch?"
Boy replies "I'm going a courtin'."
Dad then tells boy how he used to go out courting, but said he never took a torch.
Boy replied
