Yorkshireman

Wed Mar 03, 2010 3:10 am

A Yorkshireman's wife dies, so he begins to make arrangements for the funeral. He goes to the stonemason's to order a headstone.

He was quite specific: "I want the words 'She were Thine' written on it" he told the stonemason.

A few days later he went to pick up the headstone but was annoyed to see that it had the words "She were thin" engraved on it.

"Idiot, you've missed off the 'e'" he said to the unfortunate mason.

"Don't worry Sir, come back tomorrow and it will be corrected" the stonemason replied.

Next day the client returned for his headstone but this time the engraving read
Spoiler:
"E, she were thin."
