Camera crews have arrived in Coventry to film a brand new ITV series set to launch later this year. Filming started earlier this month in various locations across the city.

Viewers will see a spoof-like recreation of the hit New Zealand show, Neighbours at War, where celebrities are pitted against one another as unruly residents. Each episode will feature a different celebrity in a hilarious comedy show using deep-fake technology.

Deep fakes are videos of a person where their face and body has been digitally altered, so they appear to be someone else or say things they didn't actually say. The series will feature deep fakes of various celebrities having scuffles with each other - and it is all in good fun.

The series has been created by English actor and comedian Spencer Jones, and has been produced by Tiger Aspect. Ryan Green, the location manager for Tiger Aspect, said the show is set to wow viewers - and leave their bellies hurting from laughter.

Explaining the what the show is about, Ryan told Coventry Live: "The premise of the show that you have neighbours at war with each other. Each episode lasts for half an hour.

"It's scripted comedy and we use deep fake technology of celebrities. For example, when Carrie Fisher was filming Star Wars, they had to digitally project her face on to the actress.

"You can't tell that it was not her, and that is the same technology we use. We have a range of celebrities put in various different scenarios.

"For example, Simon Cowell becomes a dog groomer and he lives next door to Adele who is a brick layer, and they're arguing. That's an example, but it's the premise of what the show is about.

Film crews have been on location in Coventry for the past three weeks filming at different properties, including apartments, detached builds and even Cotswold stone houses. The show is believed to air around November this year on streaming platform ITVX.

The show will air on the platform for nine months before it is broadcast on television. ITVX is an upcoming streaming service from ITV, and is set to become the largest free digital broadcaster set to include hundreds of new shows, series and films.

ITV declined to comment.
