Each afternoon at 2:10pm, Countdown fans are used to tuning into Channel 4 to see Anne Robinson, Susie Dent and Rachel Riley put two contestants to the test against a series of number and literary brainteasers. On Friday, December 3, however, it was announced by Channel 4 that in “a change to listings”, the latest instalment had been cancelled and replaced by Find It, Fix It, Flog It.

Unfortunately, the only explanation for the switch up in programming was announced by the channel's voiceover following the climax of Steph McGovern's talk show, Steph's Packed Lunch.

As the clock hit the 2:10pm mark, the Channel 4 narrator said: "Now in a change to listings, it's Find It, Fix It, Flog It."

What followed was a classic episode of the restoration show which saw Henry Cole and Simon O'Brien try their best to bring items such as a clay pigeon trap, Peugeot 205 and a searchlight back to their former glories.

The shake-up was undoubtedly a blow to diehard fans of the Channel 4 quiz show who were keen to see if reigning champ Stu Harkness could continue his fine form.

All this week, the maths teacher has blown the competition out of the water, racking up several triple-digit scores along the way.
