The new One Show presenter Alex Jones has reportedly accepted a £25,000 pay rise to host the show five days a week.
Jones has agreed to join Chris Evans on the Friday edition, as well as presenting the show with comedian Jason Manford from Monday to Thursday. This will take her salary to £125,000, according to the Sunday Mirror.
A source said: "Alex has been a joy to work with during promotion and rehearsals, as well as being professional and confident."
Evans is said to have warmed to the Welsh host when she was a guest on his Radio 2 show and insisted she joined him on Fridays.
Jones will make her One Show debut alongside Manford on Monday August 16.
What is so insulting is that the highly qualified technicians who actually make the BBC programmes have had their salaries capped to a maximum £37,000 per annum.
