Nuneaton’s cherished animal sanctuary is to make its debut on one of the country’s biggest children’s TV channels.

Geoff Grewcock, founder of the Nuneaton and Warwickshire Wildlife Sanctuary, received an email from CBeebies to say that the sanctuary will be starring in an episode of Ferne and Rory’s Pet Vets’ on Monday December 10.

It was earlier this year when the CBeebies film crew visited the Oaston Road-based animal haven and Geoff is excited to see how the programme pans out.

“We haven’t seen it, we are going to have to tune in when everyone else does,” he said.

“We are excited, we have not been on CBeebies before and it will be great to see what they have done.”

Presenter Ferne visited to see the sanctuary in action.

“Our vet Roger came along to the sanctuary and they filmed him checking some of the animals,” he explained.

“Ferne came down, she was lovely, she settled in so well.”

It is not the only programme that has been filmed at the sanctuary. Geoff and the animals are also the focus of a new Channel 5 series.

“We haven’t been given a date on that one yet but they were here filming for seven weeks, so it’s another show we are looking forward to seeing,” he said.

To watch the episode of Ferne and Rory's Vet Tales tune into CBeebies at 4.35pm on Monday.
