I only ever started watching Last of the Summer Wine because I misheard the announcer say it featured Peter Sellers. Took me weeks to catch on!

Was surprised to learn Sallis had been replaced as the voice of Wallace many years ago, thought it was still him.

R.I.P. Peter.

I remember the pilot of LOTSW. I really didn't find it funny. I believe that the series was actually written as a vehicle for Peter Sallis. I also understand that there was a lot of off-screen aggro between Compo and Blamire: so much so, that there were serious questions about the series continuing.
