And fans are fuming...Theresa May shocked the UK by announcing that there will be a snap general election in June – and ITV has responded by cancelling today's episode of Loose Women.
The daytime panel show was meant to air in its usual 12.30pm slot, but was shunted for live ITV News coverage surrounding the breaking news from 10 Downing Street.
Loose Women confirmed the cancellation just half an hour before it was ready to go live.
It added on social media that guests Megan Mullally and 911 member Jimmy Constable will swing by the studio "at a later date".
This Morning didn't air as well – although that was less surprising.
"That's live TV, folks! Sometimes the news just has to take over," its official Twitter account posted.
But ITV's decision didn't sit well with the Loose Women fans at home.
The prime minister made the announcement at 11.15am, and people have questioned whether the amount of follow-up coverage was necessary.
It's not the first time that an episode of Loose Women has been cancelled in recent weeks.
Last month, on International Women's Day no less, ITV replaced the show with a news special on the Budget.
Many people pointed out the irony of that cancellation, given that in its place ITV viewers were treated to a man talking instead of its all-female panel.
Loose Women and This Morning will both be back tomorrow on ITV.
