An average of 11 million viewers caught the Strictly Come Dancing grand final last night (December 19), according to overnight figures.
The BBC One dancing competition drew 10.98 million (50.1%) in the first part from 6.35pm, before 11.01 million (48.4%) showed up for part two from 9pm.
Benefiting from no X Factor, medical drama Casualty rose to 5.69 million (28.7%). The lottery appealed to 5.91 million (29.4%) afterwards.
On BBC Two, a Porridge repeat was enjoyed by 2.03 million (10.3%) from 8.05pm.
ITV's airing of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey managed 2.01 million (9.1%), before The Jonathan Ross Show attracted 1.29 million (6.8%).
On Channel 4, the movie Star Trek averaged 867k (4.1%) from 8pm.
The multichannels were topped by BBC Four's The Bridge, which earned 777k (3.4%) and 686k (3.7%) for its 9pm and 10pm episodes respectively.
